Lifting Supervisor
The Lifting Supervisor course is designed to equip personnel with the knowledge and competencies required to plan, coordinate, and supervise lifting operations safely and in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) regulations. This course provides a comprehensive understanding of lifting principles, load assessment, crane operations, rigging practices, and risk control measures.
Participants will learn how to interpret lifting plans, verify lifting equipment certification, coordinate with crane operators and riggers, and ensure safe execution of lifting activities. Course Objective
The objective of this course is to prepare participants to effectively supervise lifting operations and ensure compliance with safety standards. By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
Understand the legal responsibilities and duties of a Lifting Supervisor under applicable OSH regulations.
Plan and review lifting operations, including load calculations and risk assessments.
Verify the suitability and certification of cranes, lifting appliances, and rigging equipment.
Coordinate and communicate effectively with crane operators, riggers, and signalers.
Identify hazards associated with lifting activities and implement appropriate control measures.
Ensure proper use of lifting plans, method statements, and permit-to-work systems.
Monitor lifting operations to ensure safe work practices are followed.
Respond appropriately to unsafe conditions and emergencies during lifting operations.
