Machinery Safety
The Machinery Safety course is designed to provide participants with essential knowledge on identifying, controlling, and managing risks associated with machinery and equipment in the workplace. This course covers common mechanical hazards such as moving parts, entanglement, crushing, shearing, cutting, and electrical risks, as well as appropriate safeguarding methods and control measures.
Participants will learn about machine guarding principles, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, preventive maintenance practices, and compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) regulations. The course emphasizes practical approaches to reducing machinery-related incidents and ensuring safe operation, inspection, and maintenance of equipment.
Course Objective
The objective of this course is to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent machinery-related accidents and ensure regulatory compliance. By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
Understand legal requirements and standards related to machinery safety.
Identify mechanical and electrical hazards associated with workplace machinery.
Apply appropriate machine guarding techniques and safeguarding methods.
Implement safe operating procedures and control measures.
Apply lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance and servicing activities.
Conduct basic machinery safety inspections and hazard assessments.
Recommend corrective and preventive actions to eliminate or reduce risks.
Promote a safe working culture when operating or working near machinery.
